Welcome to the Megaman Versus Marathon! Stream starts May 17th at 6pm EST.

Donations & Prizes

Child's Play is a gaming charity that is dedicated to improving the conditions of children's hopsitals through the donations of toys and games. By dedicating our donations to Child's Play, we are helping them raise funds that will help pay for donations of new consoles, peripherals, games, and more! The money we raise can allow children to enjoy age-appropriate entertainment, interact with their peers, friends, and family, and provide vital distraction from an otherwise generally unpleasant experience.

We will be giving out some fantastic prizes this marathon! Some of the prizes include custom Mega Man buttons and hand painted MunnyWorld Brand dolls to the likeness of Mega Man, Zero, Protoman, Vile, and Yellow Devil. We will also be giving away a copy of Mega Man Anniversary Collection for Xbox. Our Grand Prize this marathon is a absolutely fantastic classic NES console that looks great and works perfectly. It might just be the most flawless NES on the planet. It has a BRAND NEW pin connector installed and every game boots up as soon as you push the power button! No blinking or gray screens! No more blowing into those NES cartridges!

Be sure to stick around because every hour on the hour we've got Megaman Boss Trivia as a way to work towards winning these great prizes. Be sure to check out our facebook for all the details.

***To win a prize you must put a comment with your donation saying you are donating on behalf of TSR***

Spread the Word

We understand that many of you viewers do not have the means to donate to every single charity group that is running a marathon, but that doesn't mean you can't help out! Simply spreading the word around can help us bring in new viewers and continue to raise money toward Child's Play. Be it through reddit, facebook, twitter, or even in your local community, any advertisement is greatly appreciated! A simple like or a share goes a long way to getting the word out. Thanks!

Marathon F.A.Q

Q: What is this?
A: It’s several things – an entertainment venue, a video game competition, a celebration of a popular game series, and a donation drive! The basic gist of it is that four separate teams will be playing through 24 games out of the Mega Man series. From a competition side, the first team to finish all 24 games is the winner, but teams can throw additional challenges to try and mess up other team’s progress. All while that’s going on, we’ll be doing whatever else it takes to entertain viewers, including just plain making fools of ourselves. We’ll also be raising money for Child’s Play, so if you like what you see, send them a donation – you could win a prize for your efforts too!

Q: When does this happen?
A: First game starts on May 17 at 6PM EST, and the entire event ends 72 hours (3 full days) later.

Q: Which games are you playing?
A: The game list is as follows, and must be played in this order (in-series chronological order):

  • Mega Man 1 (NES)
  • Mega Man 2 (NES)
  • Mega Man 3 (NES)
  • Mega Man 4 (NES)
  • Mega Man 5 (NES)
  • Mega Man 6 (NES)
  • Mega Man 7 (SNES)
  • Mega Man 8 (PS1)
  • Mega Man 9 (WII/360/PS3)
  • Mega Man 10 (WII/360/PS3)
  • Mega Man X (SNES)
  • Mega Man X2 (SNES)
  • Mega Man X3 (SNES)
  • Mega Man X4 (PS1)
  • Mega Man X5 (PS1)
  • Mega Man X6 (PS1)
  • Mega Man X7 (PS2)
  • Mega Man X8 (PS2)
  • Mega Man Zero (GBA)
  • Mega Man Zero 2 (GBA)
  • Mega Man Zero 3 (GBA)
  • Mega Man Zero 4 (GBA)

  • Mega Man Legends (PS1)
  • Mega Man Legends 2 (PS1)

Q: Are you guys any good at these games?
A: Maybe? It probably depends who you’re asking. Some people started playing these games specifically for this marathon, and some grew up with these games. Don’t expect to see Speed Demos Archive quality runs, but I think we’ll get through the games at a great pace and reasonably low death count.

Q: How does the competition side of this work?
A: It’s pretty simple – it’s just a race! Each team begins the first game at the same time, and once they’re finished with it they just move to the next one, regardless of where other teams are. So if it’s not an extremely close race – and perhaps even if it is – teams will be playing different games at the same time. The first team to finish Mega Man Legends 2, and by extension all the other games before it, is the winner!

Q: What does the winner get?
A: Bragging rights. And more say as to what gets played for the next versus marathon.

Q: Which teams are involved?
A: There are four teams involved, and they call themselves Ocean City Trinity, Triple Speed Runners, Bonus Stage Marathons, and Team Brocket. Visit their websites to learn a little more about them and what they’ve done in the past.

Q: What is Child’s Play?
A: They’re a charity respectable in the video game community because they were founded by Gabe and Tycho from Penny Arcade. They provide toys, games, books, and other forms of entertainment to children in hospitals, thereby making hospital stays far less boring and depressing. Visit them here!

Q: Are you at all associated with Child’s Play? (Or Capcom, for that matter?)
A: No. We’re just a group of people separated into smaller groups of people that want to help a good cause.

Q: How much of the money you raise goes to them?
A: All of it. We don’t touch any of the money, all we’re providing is a means (and inspiration) to send them your donation.
